I have been placed on probation. Now what?
Go to the Probation Department located in the Wayne County Municipal Court, 215 N. Grant Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691. Check in with the administrative assistant and remain in the waiting area until your name is called. When your name is called, you will meet with your Probation Officer to discuss your case, sign the terms/conditions of your community control and any necessary paperwork, receive referrals to necessary treatment agencies, and you will be given a date and time for your next appointment.
Where do I go for probation appointments?
Unless otherwise directed by your Probation Officer, appointments take place in the Probation Department located at the Wooster Branch of the Municipal Court.
What if I miss an appointment?
You must keep your scheduled appointment. If you missed your appointment or need to reschedule your upcoming appointment, you must speak directly with your Probation Officer during regular business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to schedule a new appointment. Leaving a message is NOT acceptable.
What if I receive a notice of a probation violation?
This means your Probation Officer believes you have violated the terms/conditions of your probation. There will be a total of three Court Hearings. Notice for your appearance will be sent to the last address you provided to your Probation Officer.
What do I do if I change my address or telephone number?
Immediately notify your Probation Officer if there is any change in your address or telephone number.
What if I need to travel out of the State of Ohio?
You shall not leave the State of Ohio without the permission of your Probation Officer.
